Classes are also scheduled to resume from October 21
The authorities of Jahangirnagar University (JU) have decided to reopen the residential halls on October 11 for the students.
The decision has been taken on Saturday night at a virtual syndicate meeting with Vice Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr Farzana Islam in the chair.
Syndicate member and JU Treasurer Prof Dr Rasheda Akhtar confirmed the matter to BSS.
According to the decision, all dormitories of the university will be reopened on October 11 and class activities will restart from October 21.
Classes will be taken both online and in person. The central library will also be reopened for students, said Prof Akhtar.
Earlier on Wednesday, the JU Academic Council recommended reopening the university's residential halls from October 21.
