She took the ‘Kha’ unit exam on Saturday
Suraiya Jahan, chasing her dreams and surpassing even her own shortcomings, has taken the Dhaka University "Kha" Unit entrance exams using her feet.
The wonder girl from Sherpur with disabilities in her hands reached the exam centre at the Bangladesh Agricultural University in Mymensingh with her mother and took the one-and-a-half-hour-long exam on Saturday morning.
Suraiya, unlike other students, took the exam not on a chair but on a platform, while her mother waited outside.
Murshida Safir, the mother, dreams that her daughter will reach the sky one day. “We hope our daughter will pass this test and be an officer,” she added.

Murshida said that Suraiya’s journey up until now has been full of obstacles. Surpassing those hurdles, Suraiya had secured GPA 4.11 and then GPA 4 in her SSC and HSC exams respectively.
“We never treated her differently at home for her disabilities,” asserted Murshida.
Hailing from Sherpur Sadar, Suraiya is the oldest of three sisters. Her father is a teacher.
