The university is likely to reopen its dormitories for first, second, and third year students on October 10
The provost standing committee of Dhaka University (DU) has recommended to resume its in-person academic activities from October 16.
The committee also recommended on Tuesday that the rest of the residential students of honours third, second and first year can get into the dormitories from October 10.
Confirming the matter, DU Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Prof ASM Maksud Kamal said the decision would be finalized in the Academic Council Meeting of the university which will be held immediately.

After the approval of the council - comprising all departmental heads, directors of institutes, professors and DU high-ups - the decision will come into light.
The latest recommendations came from a Provost Standing Committee meeting chaired by Vice-Chancellor Prof Md Akhtaruzzaman at his residence.
Following the recommendation of a provost standing committee meeting, approved by Academic Council and later Syndicate, DU reopened its all the 18 dormitories from Tuesday only for the residents of honours fourth year and masters class.
