Chairman of Zaker Party Pirzada Alhaj Khwaja Mostafa Amir Faisal Mujaddedi has called for national unity to maintain peace in the country at Suhrawardy Udyan.

Zaker Party Chairman Faisal was speaking at the third national council of the party on Thursday.

Hundreds of party men from different areas of the country gathered at the program.

The party chairman said: “Zaker Party is not a political party. Rather, it is an ideological party. Anyone in the country can join this party. We want to see a free, fair, and democratic election, for the sake of the country's people.”

Faisal also said: “We are with Awami League as long as they work against corruption, terrorist activities, and work for the development of the country. We are going to take part in the 11th national elections and we too demand a fair election.”

He added: “We will participate in the upcoming parliamentary polls to prevent all conspiracies against the election.”

Earlier in February, the party announced it would contest in 300 constituencies in the upcoming parliamentary elections, for the sole purpose of sustaining the progress of democracy.

On September 10, 1987, “Zaker Shongothon” made its first public appearance.

Zaker Party officially emerged in 1989, with the aim of bringing a qualitative change to politics.

The party was officially inaugurated in 1989 by Bishwa Wali, Hazrat Shah Sufi Khwaja Baba Faridpuri (qsa) Keblajan Shaheb, a spiritual leader, at Bishwa Zaker Manjil in Faridpur, on the night of Holy Eid-e-Milad-un-nabi.
