Ershad's homecoming depends on treatment
Amid the absence of its chairman HM Ershad, Jatiya Party will present its election manifesto on Friday.
Ershad's special assistant and party presidium member Ruhul Amin Howlader will formally unveil the manifesto at the party chairman's Banani office at 10am, Jatiya Party presidium member Shunil Shuvo Roy told the UNB on Thursday.
He said their chairman was admitted to a Singapore hospital on Wednesday, and he has been receiving treatment there.
Roy said: “It is not possible to say when Ershad may return home. It depends on his treatment."
On Monday, Ershad went to Singapore for medical treatment.
Before going abroad, Ershad appointed Howlader as his special assistant to discharge all the organizational responsibilities of the party chairman in his absence.
