Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda has termed the attack on Gono Forum President and Jatiya Oikya Front chief Dr Kamal Hossain a criminal offence.
“Dr Kamal is a senior citizen and a famous person. An attack on him is an extremely regrettable matter,” he told the media at a press briefing on Saturday evening.
Action will be taken after the Election Commission's inquiry committee submits a report.
The CEC also said: “A complainthas been submitted on behalf of Dr Kamal regarding the attack. We will send this to our inquiry committee to investigate,and take necessary actions according to their report.”
