BNP has promised to ensure the accountability of law enforcement agencies including the Rapid Action Battalion
BNP, in its election manifesto, has pledged to alter the current structure of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and transform it into an Armed Police Battalion (APBn).
BNP unveiled its manifesto, for the December 30 general election, at Lakeshore Hotel, in Dhaka, on Tuesday.
BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir read out the party manifesto full of promises they intend to implement if voted into power.
In the manifesto, BNP promised to ensure the accountability of law enforcement agencies; including of RAB.
Moreover, the current structure of RAB will be altered and transformed into APBn which will be operated by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
All military and civilian institutions of the state will be directed under their respective charters.
BNP also pledged to publish all the investigation reports about the 2009 Bangladesh Rifles Revolt and the Bangladesh Bank robbery—also known as the Bangladesh Bank cyber heist. An initiative to further investigate the matter will also be undertaken.
