As-it-happened: Awami League manifesto for 11th general election

Ruling Awami League chief and Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina, unveils the party’s election manifesto at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka on Tuesday. The election will be held on December 30.

11:37AM- Ruling Awami League will launch two new mega projects to create new jobs in Bangladesh.

11:30AM- Awami League will ensure that journalists are not affected by the Digital Security Act. 

11:25AM- The ruling Awami League pledges to bring Bangladesh under full 5G bandwidth coverage between 2021 and 2023.

11:21AM- Ruling Awami League pledges to prioritize the blue economy in the next tenure.

11:19AM- Awami League to ensure that journalism is not affected by the Digital Security Act.

11AM- Awami League pledges to ensure transparency, accountability and justice in the administration.

10:58AM- The work to establish a modern, technological, efficient, corruption-free mass-oriented administrative system will continue.

Zero-tolerance policy on corruption

10:38AM- Reading out the manifesto, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina says: “Awami League will adopt a zero-tolerance policy for corruption if voted to power again. 

She says the ongoing drives against terrorism, militancy, and drugs will continue. 

“Nobody can stop Bangladesh’s advancement,” she added.

10:21AM (TUESDAY)- Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina starts delivering her speech to unveil Awami League’s 21-point special pledge manifesto.
