Voters exercised their franchise with EVMs in the 175 voting centres of this seat
Jatiya Party (JaPa) Chairman HM Ershad has retained Rangpur 3 constituency based on the unofficial results from 175 polling centres.
Electronic voting machines (EVMs) were used for voting in all these centres during the 11th general election on Sunday.
The unofficial results was announced by Returning Officer Enamul Habib from the election control room in Rangpur Police Lines in the evening.
Awami League-led Grand Alliance candidate Ershad bagged 142,926 votes in the 175 centres with his electoral symbol plough.
His rival Rita Rahman, the candidate blessed by BNP and Jatiya Oikya Front, got 53,089 votes with her sheaf of paddy symbol.
