The senior citizen was killed outside his polling centre
A senior citizen was stabbed to death when he went to cast his vote in Lalmonirhat Sadar on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Tojammel Hossain, 60, a voter from Khalaighat Ward No 2, which falls under the Lalmonirhat 3 constituency.
He was killed around 3:30pm outside the Paglaghat Government Primary School polling centre, Rajpur Union Parishad member Shahjahan Alam told the Dhaka Tribune.
Local police officials were unavailable for comment.
It could not be immediately learned who were behind the murder, but Shahjahan said Tojammel was not a political activist.
