Former Indian National Congress president Sonia Gandhi has congratulated Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on her party's victory in the 11th general election.
She congratulated Awami League President Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday, reports UNB.
Prime Minister's Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim said: "The Indian Congress party leader sent a message to the prime minister greeting her.
“Sonia also congratulated Awami League and its Grand Alliance partners on their landslide victory."
He said: "Sonia Gandhi also wished success for Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. She hoped for the continuation of peace, progress and prosperity in Bangladesh.”
