Elections were scheduled to be held on February 14
Owing to the lack of rival candidates in the elections to Feni's Parshuram municipality, the mayor and the councillor aspirants are set to be elected without voting.
Under such special circumstances, polls will not be held in the municipality.
Upazila Election Officer Md Saiful Islam said Nizam Uddin Ahmed Chowdhury was the sole candidate who submitted his nomination form for the office of mayor.
“He is going to be elected as the mayor without any contest as he is the only candidate,” the election officer said.
The same applies to the councillor posts as well — every ward has only one contender.
