Dishonest people will ruin the party, he warns
Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Monday urged the grassroots party leaders not to nominate dishonest candidates, in spite of being wealthy, for upcoming Union Parishad elections.
Obaidul Quader, also road transport and bridges minister, said this while addressing the grassroots level party leaders to nominate acceptable and popular representatives at a party program of Sirajgang district on Monday morning.

Speaking virtually as a chief guest, he also warned the party leaders and members not to abuse their power.
“The aim of our politics should be to change the people’s fate, not one’s own,” said Quader, adding: “If we involve malicious people in politics, the party will be ruined.”
