These awards aim to support businesses to thrive and network globally
Hong Kong Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) has launched its 8th annual Export Excellence Awards in Dhaka. This year, the multinational company introduced a new award category titled “Excellence in Import Substitution.”
CEO of HSBC Bangladesh Francois De Maricourt made the announcement on Tuesday, at a meet the press event in the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka.
Commenting on HSBC’s commitment to promoting the achievement of Bangladeshi exporters, Maricourt said: “Bangladesh’s economy grew 7.3% last year, making it the fastest-growing economy in Asia.
“Bangladeshi entrepreneurs have been at the forefront of achieving this success for the last eight years, and the HSBC has provided a platform for showcasing their capabilities and celebrate their global potential.”
According to the HSBC press release handed out at the press meet, these awards aim to support businesses to thrive and connect to global opportunities.
Local exporters can participate in the programme by filling out a nomination form on the bank’s website.
Md Mahbubur Rahman, deputy CEO and HSBC’s country head of wholesale banking and Talukder Noman Anwar, country head of communications also spoke at the event. Organizations and companies can also nominate contenders in any category for the programme.
The deadline for submissions is August 31, and HSBC is expected to announce the winners in the next two or three months.
