PEN Bangladesh is organizing a webinar to discuss the freedom of press amid the coronavirus pandemic on Tuesday.
The webinar titled “Freedom of the Press amidst Coronavirus: Professional Guarantees for Journalists” will be broadcast live on PEN Bangladesh’s Facebook page at 9pm.
Sakira Parveen, PEN Bangladesh's publicity secretary, made the announcement in a press release on Saturday.
Participating in the webinar will be Syed Manjurul Islam, president of PEN Bangladesh, Mustafiz Shafi, acting editor of the daily Samakal, Syed Ishtiaq Reza, editor-in-chief of Gazi Television, Mohsin Habib, associate editor of The Daily Ittefaq, Dr Aliur Rahman, chairman of the journalism and media communications department of Green University, and Soma Islam, special representative of Channel i.

Udisa Islam, chief correspondent of Bangla Tribune, will conduct the program. Viewers can also get involved through comments.
The release further states that the writers’ association will host 6 seminars, 4 thematic lectures and 5 interviews amidst the coronavirus pandemic as part of PEN International’s "Civil Society Program". All the events will be broadcast live from PEN Bangladesh's Facebook page.
