In the message the minister conveyed his sympathy about the tragic death of hundreds in the landslide in Colombia’s south-western border province of Putumayo.
The message read: “Our thoughts and prayers are with the members of the families of the victims and the injured. The people of Bangladesh are beside the people of Colombia at this trying hours.”
Acknowledging that it is a challenging task to deal with devastation of such magnitude, Mahmood said: “I firmly believe that the resilient people of Colombia will be able to overcome this disaster soon and return to their normal lives with renewed vigor.”
On behalf of the people and the Government of Bangladesh, Mahmood conveyed country's deepest condolences to the people of Colombia and sympathised with the bereaved family members who have lost their dear ones in the landslide.
