New bus service between Dhaka and Kolkata starts Saturday

A new bus-service between Dhaka and Kolkata via Khulna will start on Saturday. Green Line Paribahan will provide the bus “Soharda” for the route on behalf of the Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC), reports BSS. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee will jointly inaugurate the service through a video conference from New Delhi on the day. A 22 member delegation left Benapole for Kolkata on Friday to mark the occasion. On April 4, Cabinet Secretary Shafiul Alam said the route to Kolkata from Dhaka would go through Mawa, Gopalganj, Khulna, Jessore and Benapole.
