Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has returned home from Brunei, ending her three-day official visit at the invitation of Brunei's Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah.

A special Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight carrying the prime minister landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka around 7:25pm on Tuesday, reports UNB.

The flight had left Brunei International Airport around 5:15pm local time. She was seen off by Brunei's Primary Resources and Tourism Minister Dato Ali Apong.

The prime minister was also given a static guard of honour by the Brunei Royal Armed Forces.

During her stay, Bangladesh and Brunei signed seven instruments to strengthen cooperation, mainly in the fields of agriculture, fisheries, livestock, culture and sports, and supply of LNG.

The instruments — six MoUs and one exchange of notes — were signed after a bilateral meeting between Prime Minister Hasina and Sultan Bolkiah at the latter’s official residence, Istana Nurul Iman.

There, she invited the entrepreneurs and businessmen of Brunei to forge partnerships with the Bangladesh business community, in the common journey towards growth and prosperity.

She also laid the foundation stone of a new chancery building of Bangladesh High Commission at the diplomatic enclave in Jalan Kebangsaan.

The prime minister then attended a community event and joined a dinner hosted by the high commissioner of Bangladesh to Brunei at Empire Hotel.

She also visited the Jame Asr Mosque and the Royal Regalia Museum, which are located in the heart of Bandar Seri Begawan, the capital of Brunei.
