The government has finally completed the formalities to relieve four technocrat ministers of their duties after more than a moth of later of their resignation.
A gazette notification in this regard has been issued by the Cabinet Division on Sunday evening.
Earlier on Sunday, Cabinet Secretary Shafiul Alam said process to issue the gazette notification [regarding the resignation] has started.
“A new development will come tonight as some formalities need to finish,” Alam said.
The technocrat ministers- Religious Affairs Minister Motiur Rahman, Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Nurul Islam BSc, Science and Technology Minister Yeafesh Osman and Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Mustafa Jabbar- tendered tendered their resignation to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina following her instruction.
Their resignations to the premier were then forwarded to the Cabinet Division and again sent back to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) for a final approval.
Road Transports Minister Obaidul Quader on Saturday said the Cabinet would have no technocrat members after December 9.
