The conference will take place at the Intercontinental Hotel in the capital
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is scheduled to inaugurate the three-day-long fourth Regional Consultative Group (RCG) conference in Dhaka.
The conference will begin at the city’s Intercontinental Hotel around 10am on Thursday, reports UNB.
State Minister for Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief Enamur Rahman provided the information to journalists at the Secretariat on Wednesday.
He said: “A total of 120 representatives from 26 countries and 24 regional and international organizations will participate in the conference.”
“The government will strengthen the combination of civil and military to combat the situation arising due to the displaced Myanmar citizens entering Bangladesh,” the minister added.
Enamur Rahman further stated that a simulation show will be organized during the conference to increase skills and tackle power during natural disasters like earthquakes.
Notably, RCG was established in order to: tackle major disasters, strengthen the Humanitarian Civil-Military Coordination for Asia and the Pacific, make plans in coordination with the Civil and Military manpower, practice and implement disaster response programs, share experiences, teach, and exchange information.
