Shakil Ahmed made passport department chief

The government has appointed Major General Shakil Ahmed as the director general to the Department of Immigration and Passports Office.

A circular, with immediate effect, has been issued to the public administration ministry in this regard on Thursday.

Ahmed will replace Major General Md Shohail Hossain Khan who has been made the chairman of Bangladesh Tea Board, the circular said.

Bangladesh Tea Board Chairman Major General Md Jahangir Al Mustahidur Rahman has been brought back to the army, it added.
