The Directorate General of Drug Administration will procure these syringes
The government on Wednesday approved a proposal in principle to procure some 110 million Auto-Disable (AD) syringes and even more in future as per the requirements from JMI Syringes and Medical Devices Limited to bolster the government's drive to control the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The approval came from the 26th meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) this year, which was virtually attended by Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal, on Wednesday.

Briefing reporters after the meeting, the finance minister said that the Directorate General of Drug Administration under the Health Services Division would procure these syringes.
He said that JMI is a well reputed company and only syringes would be procured from them under the proposal.
Kamal said the CCEA meeting gave its approval in principle for procuring additional 80,000 tons of High-speed Fuel Oil (HFO) by the Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) on a G to G basis from the supplier on an emergency basis.
