Coast guard seizes 160kg of venison in Barguna

BCG Patharghata station Commander Lt Col Hasanur Rahman confirming the matter, said: “Acting on a tip-off, we conducted a drive near Banshkhali and seized 160kg of venison, three deer skins, four decapitated deer heads from with an abandoned trawler, around 3am on Sunday.

“We suspected a trawler and pursued it. The people on-board grew alarmed and abandoned ship,” Hasanur added.

The coast guard suspects there were four contraband dealers on the trawler.

The seized animal products have been handed over to the Forest Department.
