Bagerhat trawler capsize death toll now 17
Three more bodies were recovered from the Panguchi River in Morelganj of Bagerhat on Friday, raising the death toll from Tuesday’s trawler capsize incident to 17. Rescuers recovered the bodies from different areas within 10km from the spot in the morning. The three victims are Nasima Begum, Laboni Akhter and Nasrin Begum – all hailing from Morelganj. Two children – Rahat and Hasib –still remain missing, according to police. The trawler capsized around 10 am Tuesday while heading towards Purano thana ghat from Cholambaria. Three bodies were recovered and at least 30 other people were rescued alive from the river on that day.
