Paramours commit suicide in Cox's Bazar
Police have recovered bodies of a man and a woman from a house in Tekpara area in Cox’s Bazar Sadar. The deceased are Shukur Abu, 27, son of one Hasan Ali and Hasina Akhter, 25, daughter of Nur Mistri of the same district. Shukur was found hanging from the ceiling fan and Hasina was lying dead on the floor on Monday morning. “We think Shukur hanged himself and Hasina died from drinking a toilet cleaner,” Sadar Model police OC Aslam Hossain told the Dhaka Tribune. Police also found yaba paraphernalia from the house. “Hasina had a son and her husband works in Chittagong. But she left them and fled to Cox’s Bazar to stay with her lover Shukur,” Hasina’s mother told reporters. “Shukur was an electrician and became addicted few months ago. Gradually, he became irregular in his work,” said Shukur’s brother. “We can confirm details about their death after the autopsy,” Cox’s Bazar Additional Superintendent of Police Afruzul Haque Tutul said.
