3 killed as microbus plunges into roadside ditch in Chittagong

Three people including a woman have been killed after a microbus plunged into a roadside ditch in Chittagong’s Sitakunda upazila. Six others, including a child, were also injured in the Saturday morning accident on Dhaka-Chittagong Highway. The deceased are Md Naser, 60, Md Solaiman, 60 and Monika Rani Das, 40. Of them, the males were passengers of the microbus while the female was a pedestrian. The trio were killed on the spot, Kumira highway police outpost's Officer-in-Charge Md Moniruzzaman said. Identities of the injured could not be known immediately. Locals and fire service members rescued six injured people, the OC said. They are currently being treated at Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
