Cop’s hanging body found in Bogra

The body of a police constable was found hanging from a ceiling fan inside his rented flat at Ukhilpara in Sherpur upazila of Bogra on Thursday. Abdul Gafur, 56, a constable at Sherpur police station, was a resident of Mahdipur village in Rangpur’s Peerganj upazila. Md Erfan, officer-in-charge of the police station, said: “Gafur had been suffering from psychological problems, which might have led him to commit suicide.” Abdul Jalil, additional superintendent of police in Bogra, visited the spot. The body was sent to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital in the district for an autopsy, Erfan said, adding that an unnatural death case had been filed with the police the station in this regard.
