Air force soldier killed in Ctg road accident

A non-commissioned officer of Bangladesh Air Force was killed in a road accident in Patenga, Chittagong on Monday afternoon. The deceased, Tazul Islam, 40, was a lance corporal in the air force, police sources told the Dhaka Tribune. The accident occurred near the GEM gate area of Katgor area in Patenga as Tazul was returning home from his workplace on a bicycle, said Sub-Inspector Shibu Prashad Chanda of Patenga police station. A speeding bus rammed his bicycle from behind, leaving him dead on the spot. The bus driver fled the scene soon after the accident, the sub-inspector added. On receiving information, police recovered Tazul's body and sent it to the Chittagong Medical College Hospital for a post-mortem examination. “We are taking appropriate actions regarding this accident,” the sub-inspector said.
