13-feet-long python found in Sylhet
A 13-feet-long python has been recovered from Boloipara area under Khadimpara union in Sylhet suburb on Monday. The python was released in the wild at Khadimnagar National Park after being recovered from a bush. Boloipara resident Meghna Patra, 30, noticed the python first and informed the Forest Department about it. Later, the department officials recovered the snake. Chayanbroto Chowdhury, an official of Khadimnagar Forest Department, said: “Perhaps the snake entered the locality looking for food. These kinds of snakes are available in Chittagong and Sylhet hilly areas but they do not enter the locality too often.” He said the snake weighted 35kgs. According to the locals, Meghna has a Dr Doolittle-effect on him and he recovered stranded wild animals before.
