
Mariam and Atiqul, the two children of Laili, the domestic help who was found dead in Dhaka on Friday, are going to get their own residence under a government project.
Debendra Nath Uraon, upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) of Kurigram's Phulbari upazila where Laili was from, confirmed the matter to the Dhaka Tribune.
The UNO said Kurigram Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Ferdous Khan had instructed Phulbari upazila administration to arrange for a home for the two children, whose father is currently in jail in India.
A room will be built for the two children under the government's Abasahon Prokolpo (housing project) – 2, he added.
When contacted, Kurigram Deputy Commissioner Ferdous said: “The district administration will provide all possible support to the children. I hope they will not have face any problems.”

Laili's body was found in her employer's house in Banasree area of Rampura, Dhaka on Friday afternoon, allegedly hanging from the ceiling.
Laili's family members claimed that she had been murdered because she demanded her due wages.
She was buried near her parent's house in former exclave area Dashiar Chhara in Phulbari on Sunday. UNO Debendra Nath Uraon attended her funeral; later, he provided some money to the children and assured them of government support.
On Tuesday, he visited the two children again and gave them new clothes and food.
“I gave the children food and clothes on my own. I was upset when I learnt about their loss and wanted to do something for them.”
