Bangabandhu Memorial Boat Race held

Like every year, a colourful traditional boat racing competition titled Bangabandhu Smriti Nouka Baich was organised on the Kumar River on Tuesday amid festivity and enthusiasm. The people of Batikamari Union Parishad and Nikharhati village organised the event, which was witnessed by hundreds of people to remember Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the Father of the Nation. Fifty giant boats from Gopalganj and Faridpur took part in the race. The race has been taking place in the village for 10 years. The upazila unit Awami League President Atiqur Rahman Mian, who was chief guest at the event, distributed prizes among the winners.
