3 students involved in Barisal University entry test question leak remanded
A Barisal court has granted three-day police remand for three of the six students detained on Saturday in connection with a scam of leaking question papers of Barisal University’s science department admission test. Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Amit Kumar Dey on Sunday granted the remand for Muyeedur Rahman Baki, Mahmudul Hasan Abid and Md Sabbir Ahmed Pritam after all six were produced before the court. The court sent the three others - Md Alamgir Shahin, Maruf Hossain and Md Rakib Akon - to jail after Shahin and Maruf gave confessional statement to the court under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, Barisal Metropolitan Police Detective Branch’s Assistant Commissioner Nasir Uddin Mallik told the Dhaka Tribune.

Asked if anyone else was involved in the scam, Nasir said: “We cannot share all the details now for the sake of the investigation.” A case over the matter was filed with Kotwali police station after the six accused were caught red-handed with equipment for leaking question papers online from a house in Barisal city’s Arshad Ali Contractor Lane on Saturday morning. Police also seized five Bluetooth earphones, five ATM cards, an anti-jammer and 11 mobile phones with 13 SIM cards from them.
