Fishing cat injures three in Moulvibazar

Three people were injured Saturday evening in an attack by a fishing cat near Barshijora Eco Park area under Chandni Ghat union in Moulvibazar. Three are Monia Mia, Parul Begum, and Raju Mia. They were all sent to Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital for treatment. According to locals, fishing cats are coming out of the forest and into human settlements in search of food. They are now living in fear after the incident took place. Meanwhile, Moulvibazar Forest Officer Mohammed Tabibur Rahman said that the fishing cat was looking for its kitten which is probably in one of the houses. “And when she was agitated, the attack took place,” he added. The local authorities have issued warnings to residents of Kamalganj's Kalenga Bazar and Moulvibazar through public service announcements.
