Newly built BNP office vandalized in Bogra
Bangladesh Chhatra League men have allegedly vandalized a newly built office of the Dhunat upazila unit of BNP in Bogra, hours before its inauguration. Dhunat upazila BNP member secretary Sharafat Zaman Pasha accused Iqbal Hossain Ripon, former president of Dhunat upazila Chhatra League, and his men of vandalizing the office on Saturday around 10am. They also torn down banners and vandalized furniture inside the office that was set to be inaugurated in the evening, he told the Dhaka Tribune. Contacted, Ripon refuted the allegation, saying neither he nor his men were involved in the incident. Officer-in-Charge of Dhunat police station Mizanur Rahman said no case had yet been filed in this connection. “We will take actions once a case is lodged,” he added. Meanwhile, a tense situation is prevailing in the area centring on the incident.
