The Forest Department of Ukhiya upazila in Cox’s Bazar rescued a 14-foot-long python from the upazila’s Tutur Beel on Sunday evening.
Ukhiya Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Nikaruzzaman confirmed the matter to the Dhaka Tribune: “When the locals informed the authorities, forest officials rushed to the location and rescued the python around 7pm Sunday.”
“The python weighs around 34kg. We will release it at a park in Choang Khali. We suspect it may have come to inhabited neighbourhoods in search of food.”
There were no reports of anyone coming to any harm.
