UP chairman hacked, shot dead in Narail

A union parishad (UP) chairman was slain by unidentified assailants in broad daylight in Narail on Thursday. Lohagara upazila UP Chairman Latifur Rahman Polash, who was also a member of Awami League, was hacked and shot dead by the criminals in the UP premises. Sardar Rakibul Islam, superintendent of police in Narail, confirmed the matter. President of Awami League's Lohagara upazila unit Shikdar Abdul Hannan Ronu said: "The identities of the assailants are still unknown.
