4 detained in Bandarban with 25 firearms

Four men have been detained with 25 firearms and a huge cache of bullets during a joint security operation in Bandarban. A joint team of RAB 7 and Bangladesh Army's Alikodom Zone conducted the raid in Bonpur Rajapara's remote hilly area in Lama on Thursday night. Twenty-five guns (14 SBBL and 11 one-shooter) with 2,037 rounds of bullet were seized, said Maj Ruhul Amin, Rab 7 company commander. The detainees have been identified as Tuisa Maung, 36, Ekyo Marma, 39, Chaimung Marma, 36, Mifong Marma, 45. No other details were provided and it is unclear which group the men were affiliated with.
