Five days after going missing, the body of a former student of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), Boishakhi Dhar Tripti, was recovered from Surma River in Sunamganj’s Dowarabazar area.
Police are assuming that she committed suicide due to a family feud.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sylhet’s South Surma police station Khairul Fazal said Tripti went missing on the morning of April 21.
“Police found her body in the Surma River on Wednesday,” the OC added.
Tripti’s father Ashutosh Dhar filed a case with South Surma police station accusing her husband Rinku Chandra Dhar of inciting her to commit suicide.
Dowarabazar police station Officer-in-Charge Shushil Kumar said her father identified the body Thursday morning.
