
A woman was killed in a fight at the Nayapara Rohingya refugee camp in Teknaf upazila, Cox's Bazar on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Anchar Begum, 26, wife of Md Ilias, 40.
Anchar's father Makbul Ahmed, 65, was gravely injured in the fight as well.
Witnesses said the fight broke out around 4pm, starting with an argument.
Anchar had a heated exchange with a group of quack medicine sellers who set up shop in front of her husband's shop in the camp.
The argument grew aggressive fast, and at one point the medicine sellers attacked Anchar and her father, stabbing Anchar.
She died on the way to hospital.
Police detained six people from the scene in connection with the incident, said Ranjit Kumar Barua, OC of Teknaf Model police station.
The detainees are: Syed Ahmed, 65, Abul Machon, 18, Md Yusuf, 22, Md Ibrahim, 25, Saleh Ahmed, 62 and Syed Ahmed Dilbahar, 40, the OC added.
Anchar's body was sent to the morgue in Cox's Bazar for autopsy.
A case will be filed in this regard, OC Ranjit said.
