The Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB) will soon open a branch in Chattogram to provide training to journalists in the district.
PIB Director General Shah Alamgir disclosed this on Friday while addressing the closing session of a three-day training course for photojournalists at Hill Town Circuit House in Cox’s Bazar.
Cox’s Bazar Journalists Union President Abu Taher Choudhury presided over the session.
“There is no alternative to providing training if we are to generate talented journalists. This is why the government is going to open a branch of PIB in Chattogram,” he said.
“Necessary measures have already been taken. The branch will be opened in the quickest possible time.”
Alamgir added that the PIB would gradually open branches in other districts as well.
Thirty-five journalists and photojournalists in Cox’s Bazar attended the course.
