Chhatra League leader ‘beats up’ RU student
A Rahshahi University (RU) student sustained injuries as a leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League allegedly beat him up Friday evening. Jihad Hossain, a 4th year student of the Anthropology Department, said RU Chhatra League’s vice-president Ruhul Amin Kisku alias Rack called him while he was sitting in front of the Teacher Student Centre (TSC) around 6:30pm. When Jihad went to Ruhul Amin, who was also staying near TSC, he started beating Jihad with an iron rod, leaving him critically injured. Several students of Habibur Rahman Hall found Jihad lying in a pool of blood in an unconscious condition. Later, he was rushed to Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital. A physician of the hospital said Jihad received injuries to his head. The Chhatra League leader has denied the allegation.
