State-owned jute mill workers blocked Khulna-Jessore highway and the railways of the district for four hours to press home their 11-point demand.
The blockade started at 8am on Sunday.
Earlier, Bangladesh state-owned jute mill CBA-Non CBA workers and employees called for the program.
CBA General Secretary at Crescent Jute Mill Sohrab Hossain along with some others led the protest program.
CBA-Non CBA Workers' Unity Council Joint Convener Deen Islam said: “Jute mill workers all over the country have been protesting. But we are no closer to reaching our goal.

“If our demand is not fulfilled before the city corporation polls, then we will not cast our votes in the election.”
The 11-point demand includes, declaration and implementation of wage commission similar to the pay commission, formation of a separate wage board for the workers of state-owned industries, reimbursement of the all the arrears of the workers and regular payment of the wages and salaries.
The mills have been suffering from production halt due to the workers’ continued protest. Workers from Crescent Jute Mill, Platinum Jute Mill, Khalishpur Jute Mill, Daulatpur Jute Mill, Star Jute Mill, Alim Jute Mill, Eastern Jute Mill and JJI Jute Mill joined the protest.
