Swecchasebok Dal leader held for posting distorted photos of president, PM on Facebook

A former leader of Jatiyatabadi Swecchasebok Dal has been arrested allegedly for posting distorted photos of President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Facebook.

Masud Shikdar was arrested from Ajgana Kharapara area in Mirzapur upazila of Tangail on Friday. He was an organizing secretary of the Mirzapur upazila unit of Swecchasebok Dal, the volunteer front of BNP.

“Masud Shikdar used to post distorted images and photos of the president, prime minister, Attorney General Mahbubey Alam and ministers of the government on his Facebook account,” said AKM Mizanul Haque, officer-in-charge of Mirzapur police station.

“Upon receipt of a complaint from locals, we launched a drive and arrested him on Friday.”

Legal actions against the arrestee are underway, he added.
