Large amount of drugs seized during the drive
Police have detained 43 people after an anti-drug drive in Jhenaidah.
They were detained from various upazilas of the district between Friday night and Saturday morning, said Jhenaidah Superintendent of Police Mizanur Rahman.
Police also seized a large amount of drugs during the drive, he said.
Mizanur said police are conducting a weeklong anti-drug drive in the district.
Last week, Director General of Rapid Action Battalion Benazir Ahmed warned that the elite force would strengthen the legal system to the optimum level to prevent drug abuse.
Law enforcers launched an anti-drug drive on May 4.
