A boy has died after falling from a roadside tree, while trying to tie up a flag of Brazil.

The boy named Rashed Hasan, 14, lost his life on Sunday at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

On May 28, Rashed Hasan, 14, suffered injuries when he was run over by a bus after falling from a tall tree. He was trying to tie a flag of Brazil on the tree.

The incident took place on the Protima Banki bazaar area of Dhaka – Sakhipur road.

Rased was the son of Basir Ali, a Kuwaiti expatriate. He was a student of grade six of Protima Banki Fazil Madrasa.

Locals said on the morning of the incident Rashed and his two friends went to the bazaar with a Brazilian flag. Rashed climbed up a tall mahogany tree located beside the road to tie up the flag.

But he fell down in front of a moving bus on the road below and was crushed under the front tyre. The driver of the bus made a hard brake but it was of no use.

Locals rescued him and took him to Sakhipur Upazila Health Complex and later he was sent to DMCH as his condition deteriorated. Rashed was in a critical condition when he was admitted at the ICU of DMCH.

The news of Rashed’s death has brought down a shadow of mourning in the area along with his classmates. His family members are in a state of shock at the moment.

Local UP Chairman Ansar Ali Asif has confirmed about the matter. He said: “Rashed’s body was brought home on Monday morning. He was buried in his family graveyard after the funeral prayers.”
