All three were crushed to death under the wheels of a train
A man and his two daughters were crushed to death by a train while taking a selfie on the railway tracks near the Puranpara railway bridge in Narsingdi’s Sadar upazila on Monday.
The deceased were identified as Hafiz Miah, 40, son of Jahirul Islam of Duttapara village in Lakshmipur’s Sadar upazila, and his daughters -- Tarin, 13, a eighth grader, and Tuli, 2.
Hafiz, a businessman, lived in a house at Bilasdi of Narsingdi town with his family.
Narsingdi Sadar model police station OC M Syeduzzaman said the Noakhali-bound Upakul Express hit the trio around 6:45pm while they were taking a selfie standing on the tracks, killing them on the spot.
