She will observe the 43rd death anniversary of the Father of the Nation
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is set to visit Tungipara in Gopalganj to observe the 43rd death anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, and National Mourning Day, on August 15.
She will pay her respects by placing wreaths on Bangabandhu's mausoleum at 10am, according to a fax sent to Gopalganj's Deputy Commissioner, signed by the prime minister's Assistant Personal Secretary-1 Kazi Nishat Rosul.
According to the fax, the prime minister will place wreaths and pray for Bangabandhu's departed soul after reaching Tungipara in the morning.
At that time, a smartly turned-out contingent of the army will present the prime minister with a guard of honour.
A milad and dua mahfil will be held in the Bangbandhu mausoleum mosque at 11am. The prime minister will attend them while staying at the Bangabandhu Bhaban in Tungipara.
Cabinet members, members of the parliament, Awami League central committee and associated organization members, military personnel, and other officials will accompany the prime minister.
Different preparations have been made to observe the mourning day. The mausoleum has been cleaned, while the streets have been decorated with black archways. Black flags have been erected in many parts of Gopalganj.
Security has been enforced in the district, with RAB, police and other security forces working to provide the prime minister with the utmost security.
