A long tailback has formed on the Dhaka-Tangail-Bangabandhu Bridge highway, inconveniencing thousands of Eid holidaymakers.
The tailback began forming on the highway on Tuesday morning.
Vehicles moved at a snail’s pace due to some puddles that appeared following last night’s rainfall.
Around 1,000 members of law enforcement agencies are working on the highway to control the situation.
The number of vehicles on the highway has increased as time passes.
Bangabandhu Bridge (East) Officer-in-Charge Mosharraf Hossain said there is a huge number of vehicles on the day before Eid-ul-Azha.
The district police, highway police, and traffic police are working to reduce the gridlock, he said.
