3 killed in Bogra road accident

The accident occurred near a bus stand in Shahjahanpur upazila

At least three people have been killed in a bus-autorickshaw collision on the Dhaka-Bogra highway.

Another person was also injured in the accident that occurred near Majhira bus stand area, Shahjahanpur upazila, on Wednesday morning. 

The dead were identified as Alimuddin Pramanik, 70, Manjuara Begum, 60, and autorickshaw driver Shafiqul Islam, 42.  Mariam Begum, 40, was injured. 

Quoting locals, Shahjahanpur police station’s Sub-Inspector Sushanta Kumar Saha said the Bogra-bound bus lost control and collided with the CNG-run autorickshaw, leaving two persons dead on the spot. 

The two injured people were taken to the Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital where doctors declared one dead. 

Police impounded the bus but its driver and assistant fled the scene.
