The 24-hour police raid began Saturday at 8am
Police have arrested 77 people, including 11 suspected drug peddlers, in a 24-hour raid in Khulna. The drive began on Saturday at 8am and continued till Sunday at 8am.
Confirming the matter to the Dhaka Tribune, Additional Superintendent of Police for Khulna district, Md Anisur Rahman said: “Seven drug peddlers were arrested from different parts of the district during a 24-hour anti-narcotics drive.
“Police seized 32g of marijuana and 65 Yaba tablets from the suspects. Six cases were also filed against the culprits. A total of 41 other suspects, wanted in different cases, were also arrested in the drive.”
Meanwhile, sources from the Khulna Special Branch Control Room confirmed that another 29 people, including four suspected drug dealers, have been arrested in an anti-drug drive in the past 24 hours.
